Account and data deletion

Delete in the app

Open Account and choose Delete my account (or Delete guest data). Review what will be removed, confirm deletion, and sign in again using your existing sign-in method when asked. Apple-linked accounts must confirm through Apple so we can revoke the app’s authorization. No explanation or email to support is required for in-app deletion.

The app shows whether deletion is pending or complete. Once accepted, cleanup continues automatically even if the app closes, with scheduled retries for interrupted work. The device temporarily keeps a private recovery receipt so you can check progress. Keep it private and leave app storage intact until completion. Deletion cannot be undone after it is accepted.

Get help or request deletion without the app

Email electrolytechef@nexceed.com with the subject “Electrolyte Chef deletion request.” For an email account, send it from the address used for that account and state whether you want the account and all associated data deleted or only specific content removed. You do not need to give a reason.

If you used Apple’s Hide My Email, include the Support ID shown in your account so we can help verify ownership even if your contact email differs. If you used guest ratings, open Sign in or Account in the app, copy the selectable Support ID, and include it in your email. It is not attached to the email draft automatically. Keep access to that app or browser until we have verified control. The Support ID helps locate records but does not by itself prove ownership. Without a way to identify the records and verify control, we may be unable to fulfill a guest request; we will explain the options. Never send your password or sign-in codes.

Verification and timing

In-app deletion verifies the current session and asks registered users to sign in again; guest requests use the existing guest session. For email requests, we may ask for information reasonably needed to confirm control of the account or records. A support request is not completed until we confirm it. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days and will explain any necessary extension or legal exception. Applicable legal deadlines still govern. You may also request a copy or correction of your information through the same email.

What an account deletion request covers

After verification, we remove the account's sign-in record and associated information from our active service, including:

• Your username profile and reservation, and individual ratings linked to the account, with public rating totals updated accordingly.
• Submitted recipes and comments, including pending or rejected submissions and associated moderation records, except records lawfully retained for the limited reasons below.
• Approved recipes and comments linked to those submissions from our current public files.
• Your blocked-author preferences, reports you submitted, private author mapping, account-linked usage counters, and other identifiable operational records, subject to the limited security and retention exceptions below.
• For Apple-linked accounts, the app’s Apple sign-in authorization is revoked before the deletion request is accepted.

What may remain temporarily or separately

We may retain limited information needed for legal obligations, fraud or abuse prevention, security, disputes, or documenting and honoring the deletion request. We will explain any applicable exception. Provider logs and backups follow their own retention processes and are not necessarily erased immediately.

Public files and app caches take time to refresh. Previously downloaded recipes or comments, search caches, device backups, and copies independently saved by other people may remain outside our active service. Removing your content cannot recall those copies. We stop including removed material in newly published public files.

Deleting a recipe can also remove its discussion from current public files, including comments contributed by other users; their own account records are handled separately.

Local favorites and external services

Favorites, appearance and unit preferences, selected container size, and downloaded data are stored on your device or browser. Clear app or site storage to remove local copies, and manage device backups through your backup provider. Signing out, clearing storage, or uninstalling does not delete server records. Account deletion does not erase Amazon purchases, retailer accounts, or information held independently by your email or device provider; contact those providers separately.
